Products Description
1.3355 /T1 tool steel is one of the original tungsten high speed steels, although all tungsten steel grades are used to a limited extent because of the cost and questionable availability of tungsten. Of the T group steels, the general purpose T1 tool steels and the high-vanadium-cobalt T15 are most commonly used.
T1 high speed steel is an air or oil hardening tool steel which has good comprehensive performance. HSS T1 tool steel has a high hardness (HRC62~66), strength, toughness and heat resistance, which is an excellent cutting tool material. T-1 tool steel grade is on the whole used for turning, planning & slotting instruments, tapes, twist drill, threading dies, profile slicing instruments, broaching instruments & reamers.

1.3355 Steel Mechanical properties:
Hardness: (annealing) ≤ 255HB.
Quenching and tempering hardness: ≥ 63HRC
● Heat treatment specification and metallographic structure:
Heat treatment specification: quenching, 820~870 ℃ preheating, 1270~1285 ℃ (salt bath furnace) or 1270~1285 ℃ (box furnace) heating, oil cooling, 550~570 ℃ tempering twice, 1 hour each time.
● Delivery status: hot-rolled, forged and cold-drawn steel bars are delivered in annealing status, and hot-rolled and forged steel bars are delivered after processing by annealing+other processing methods (peeling, light drawing, polishing or polishing, etc.).

AISI/ASTM T1/1.3355 Tool Steel Heat Treatment and Properties

ASTM T1/1.3355 STEEL is the most widely used tungsten series universal high speed steel with high hardness, red hardness and high temperature hardness, and is easy to grind. ASTM T1 is suitable for cutting tools that can maintain cutting performance even when the working temperature is below 600 ℃, such as turning, planing, milling, reaming, broaching, drill bits, various gear cutters, taps, dies, etc. ASTM T1 is suitable for processing soft or medium hardness (below 300~320HB) materials and making high-temperature wear-resistant mechanical parts.
